Maintain proper clearance around grain bins

The State of Iowa requires specific clearances for electric lines near grain bins, with different standards for those filled by portable and permanent augers, conveyors and elevators. If you are planning for a new grain bin, or if you are planning to erect or move a current grain storage structure, please call the Cooperative. We will help you plan for a safe environment for everyone working and living around the structures; we want to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Review the drawings below that show specific clearances required for both scenarios. Click here for a printable version.

If you have any questions, contact the Cooperative at (888)788-1551.
